About Mike’s Emergency Vehicle Installations
Mike’s Emergency Vehicle Installations was established by Mike Smith in 2016. The business began when another local company decided to no longer offer emergency vehicle upfitting as part of its services, leaving a gap in the local industry.
Having worked in the vehicle electronics business through local companies for more than 12 years, Mike recognized an opportunity to fill that gap and provide local agencies with another option for professional emergency vehicle installations. From that vision, Mike’s Emergency Vehicle Installations was born.
Our goal has always been to provide a local, professional, and reliable option for area law enforcement and public safety agencies. We specialize in professional emergency vehicle equipment installation and are also able to perform the repair and service work needed to keep vehicles on the road with as little downtime as possible.
We take pride in our extremely clean, organized, and professional installations. We understand that emergency vehicles need to be dependable, and we strive to make sure every installation is completed with the quality and attention to detail our customers expect.
Mike’s started in a small, one-stall shop, strictly offering electronic installation services. Over the next 10 years, the business continued to grow and moved locations several times as our needs and capabilities expanded.
Today, we’ve finally settled into our permanent home—a 9,000-square-foot facility on the west side of Mankato, Minnesota. This move was a major step toward our goal of becoming a one-stop shop for our customers, allowing us to offer more services and capabilities under one roof.
From our beginnings in a one-stall shop to our current 9,000-square-foot facility, we’ve continued to grow while staying focused on what got us here in the first place: quality work, attention to detail, and taking care of our customers.
